METRO DIGEST || Buddhist monks to lead evening of healing
Buddhist healing
NEW CASTLE, PA.
The Spiritual Path Church, 2041 Moravia St. Ext., will welcome the Gaden Shartes Buddhist Monks on Saturday for an evening of healing. A potluck dinner will be at 4:30 p.m., and a Vajravidarin Healing Ritual will begin at 7:30.
Vajravidarin is a ritual of purification and is composed of three stages: purification and removing of negativities, removing subtle negative imprints, and offering protection. The healing ritual purifies sickness, mental turmoil, infectious diseases, obstacles, misguidance and more.
Gaden Shartse Monastic College was founded in Tibet in the 15th century. Today the Tibet Monastery has more than 1,600 resident students, teachers, scholars and spiritual practitioners.
The purpose of the tour is to share the monks’ culture as well as practices and paths to inner peace and compassion. Participants are encouraged to bring a covered dish for the potluck dinner. Donations are also encouraged. For information, call 724-698-7564 or visit www.spiritualpathinc.org.
