50th anniversary
AUSTINTOWN
First Free Will Baptist Church of Austintown, 5530 New Road, will celebrate its 50th anniversary during the 10:15 a.m. service Oct. 4 on the theme, “Celebrating 50 Years of God’s Faithfulness.”
The church was started in 1965, sponsored by the Mission Board of the Ohio State Association of Free Will Baptists and under the leadership of the Rev. Thurman Murphy. Pastors Clarence Newman, Bill McCarty, Lee Craddock, Bruce Beal and current Pastor Tom Dooley have continued leading the ministry.
“The Pastor’s Trio” (the Rev. Bill Pitts of Lancaster, Ohio; the Rev. Mike Mounts of Minford, Ohio; and Pstor Tom Dooley of Austintown) will sing. A dinner will follow in the church pavilion.

Worldwide conference
GIRARD
A live broadcast of the 185th semi-annual worldwide conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be at noon and 4 p.m. next Saturday and Oct. 4 at Youngstown Chapel, 2205 Tibbetts-Wick Road. Sessions will be broadcast from the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
A session for women and girls 8 and older will be at 8 p.m. today. The priesthood session for men will be at 8 p.m. next Saturday. Messages will be given by Thomas S. Monson, church president, and members of the Quorum of the Twelve The Mormon Tabernacle Choir live broadcast will be at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 4.

Harvest weekend
EAST LIVERPOOL
The sixth annual fall harvest weekend is planned from Friday through Oct. 4 at Tri-State Free Methodist Family Campground, 1027 Anderson Boulevard.
Members are 14 Free Methodist churches in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
The Rev. Forrest E. States, pastor of the Apollo Free Methodist Church in Apollo, Pa., will speak at 7 p.m. Friday and next Saturday. The Christian-based movie, “Do You Believe,” also will be shown.
A cookout and covered dish picnic will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 4. There will be Sunday services.

The Rev. Sylvia L. Jennings will celebrate seven years of service at Oak Baptist Church, 320 Elk St., Sunday.
Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 10:45 a.m.
A program at 4 p.m. will include the Rev. Ernest Ellis and Antioch Baptist Church. Refreshments will be served.
Revival planned
YOUNGSTOWN
Faith Fellowship Church of God, 388 E. Midlothian Blvd., will conduct a revival at the 10:45 a.m. service Sunday with evangelists the Rev. Ronn and Paula Jones of Compassionate Heart Ministries, of Waynesville, Ohio. There will be ministries in music and message. A baptismal service is planned.
The revival will continue at 6 p.m. that day.
CROP walk
YOUNGSTOWN
The CROP Hunger Walk scheduled Oct. 11 will be sponsored locally by Mahoning Valley Association of Churches.
The CROP (Christian Rural Overseas Program) Hunger Walk is the oldest charity walk in the United States.
Church World Service, formed in 1946 after World War II to help bring relief to devastated areas of Europe, began the event.
The walk will begin at 2 p.m. at First Unitarian Church, 1105 Elm St.; registration is at 1.
Packets are available at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave., and Girard First United Methodist Church, 22 N. Market St., Girard. Each participating church is asked to bring a snack.

Quartet in concert
YOUNGSTOWN
Gloryway Quartet will be in concert at 7 p.m. today at New Covenant Worship Center Nazarene Church, 1900 Canfield Road. Guest is singer Linda Abraham. A free-will offering will be taken.
Benefit concert
ANDOVER
Hope benefit concert is planned at 2 p.m. Oct. 4 at Pymatuning Valley Veterans Memorial Auditorium, 5571 Route 6, by the Council for Dynamic Rural Ministries, a consortium of United Methodist churches. Refreshments will be served. A free-will offering will be taken.
