Police: Speed was factor in accident

Police said speed was a factor in an accident on Youngstown’s South Side that sent a driver to the hospital, according to Vindicator broadcast partner 21 WFMJ-TV.

A car veered off Glenwood Avenue at about 2:30 p.m. Friday after it struck a rock and flipped over onto its roof. Firefighters helped free the driver, a male in his late teens or early 20s. His identity has not been released but he is listed in stable condition at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
