Coroner’s office identifies body found on porch as Carly Ginnicks

WARREN

The Trumbull County Coroner’s Office identified the body found on the front porch of 307 Scott St. NE Wednesday afternoon as Carly Ginnicks, 32, of Perkins Drive Northwest and East Park Avenue in Niles.

There was no obvious cause of death and no obvious trauma on the body, but an autopsy will be conducted Saturday. The cause and manner of death, however, is likely to be determined in about eight weeks, after the toxicology results are received, said Dr. Humprhey Germaniuk, the coroner.

Ginnick’s grandmother, who found the body with her daughter while looking at abandoned houses, said she believes Ginnicks died of a drug overdose and that she probably had died Sept. 15, the day she went missing.

Trumbull County had 50 confirmed overdose deaths this year through Aug. 6, with 12 more considered likely to be overdose deaths since Aug. 6, Dr. Germaniuk said.
