Emily Bevan, a 2015 Austintown Fitch High School graduate and current student at Youngstown State University, achieved one of her dreams in qualifying for the World Championship Horse Show in Louisville, KY.

Bevan has been riding horses since the age of 9, working toward her goal for the championship.

Bevan’s mother, Kim Bevan, said through Emily’s hard work and dedication she was able to achieve that goal.

Emily and her horse, Grey, won a sixth place ribbon at the competition.

“She does this on her own which makes this such an amazing accomplishment,” Kim Bevan said. “She had been recognized by a local trainer who asked her if she would be interested in showing their Morgan horse in the equitation division at the Morgan World National Championship in Oklahoma City this October and, of course, she accepted.”

Kim Bevan said she was incredibly proud of her daughter and wanted others to know hard work does pay off.

“Anything is possible as long as you work for it and believe in yourself,” Kim Bevan said.
