ASSOCIATIONS

Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. Oct.13 at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Monica Craven, executive director of Mahoning Valley Habitat for Humanity, will be the speaker. The menu comprises quiche lorraine, chicken a la king, scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage, ham, home-fried potatoes, assorted pastries, fresh fruit, coffee, tea and orange juice. GFWC Warren City Federation of Women’s Clubs will be the hostess club for the GFWC/Ohio NE District Fall Conference on Monday at Ciminero’s Banquet Center in Niles. Registration will be from 5:30 to 6 p.m. The cost, including registration fee, is $22 per person. The GFWC/Ohio NE District includes Warren City and Youngstown Area federations, Austintown, Boardman-Poland and Warren Juniorettes, Austintown Jr. Women’s League, Junior Women’s League of Canfield, Boardman-Poland Junior Women’s League, Canton South Junior Guild Inc., The Women’s Club of Kent, Louisville Women’s Club, Masury Brookfield Women’s Club and Warren Junior Women’s League. Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild has scheduled the following Neighborhood Group meetings: 10 a.m. Thursday, Niles Silver Thimbles will have a mending day at Shepherd of the Valley. Take a machine, sewing supplies and notions and supplies you can donate. Flower pads for residents for Christmas will be the project. Bright-colored fabric for petals and green for leaves will be welcome. LIBRARY FRIENDS

Hubbard Friends of the Library will meet Monday at Hubbard Public Library, 435 W. Liberty St. Social time begins at 6 p.m., and the business meeting will follow at 7. Canfield Republican Women’s Club will celebrate 50 years of supporting qualified Republicans in Ohio with a dinner Oct. 15 at Avion on the Water, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. Cocktails will be at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30 and a presentation will follow. Master of ceremonies David Johnson will conduct a panel discussion about the past, present and future of the Republican Party with special guests. Trumbull County League of Women Voters will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the Trumbull County Board of Elections, 2947 Youngstown Road in Warren. Participants will meet staff members and learn about election changes. All meetings are free and open to the public.

Warren Republican Women’s Club will meet 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Ciminero’s, 123 N. Main St., Niles. The cost is $12 for members and $6 for guests. Members are encouraged to take a guest.
