Lowellville to give away bike helmets at Saturday safety day

LOWELLVILLE —The Lowellville Police and Fire departments are teaming up with Struthers Scout Pack 101 for a common cause — safety.

A free event will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Lowellville City Hall at 140 E. Liberty St. There will be stations for fire safety and for creating emergency contact lists and child-safety kits.

Additionally, the police department will give away free bicycle helmets, provided by a grant from the American Academy of Pediatrics. The AAP also awarded Lowellville a grant last year.
