Girard man arrested in Boardman on domestic-violence charge

BOARDMAN - A Girard man faces a felony domestic-violence charge after an incident at a South Avenue movie theater.

Daniel Waggoner, 28, is charged with the offense, and with violating a protection order.

The charges stem from an incident reported Wednesday night in which Waggoner reportedly assaulted a woman in the movie theater lobby.

The domestic-violence charge is elevated to a felony, according to a police report, because Waggoner previously was convicted of aggravated menacing against a family or household member.

The protection order charge was elevated to a felony because the offense allegedly occurred while also committing a domestic-violence offense, police said.
