YOUNGSTOWN

A 21-year-old Youngstown man is to be arraigned today on charges of murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm and tampering with evidence.

Police said officers apprehended Sir Wolfgang Green about 11:15 p.m. Monday outside a house at 1916 Summer St. as he and his brother, Delord, tried to flee.

Sir Wolfgang Green is accused of killing Devon Bailey, who died Sept. 16 after being shot in the chest at a 559 Cohasset Drive home about 8:35 p.m.

Bailey’s death is the city’s 16th homicide of the year.

Police said they received a tip on the department’s Help Hotline that Green was hiding at the Summer Street house.

While talking with the homeowner and her daughter on the porch, police said they saw Green and his brother looking out from a window on the second floor.

The two ran through the house – down to the first floor and upstairs to the third floor – and then jumped from a third-story window onto the roof of the front porch and jumped again to the ground, police said. The two ran in opposite directions, but quickly were captured and handcuffed.

Sir Wolfgang Green was taken to the Mahoning County jail pending today’s arraignment in Youngstown Municipal Court.

His brother and the two females at the house were not charged.

Court records show Sir Wolfgang Green has a lengthy criminal record, serving two prison sentences, and was in juvenile court going back to when he was 12 years old.
