Ohio to host one of three presidential debates in 2016
COLUMBUS — It’s still more than a year away, but Ohio will play host to the first of three presidential debates next year, the Commission on Presidential Debates announced today.
The event is set for Sept. 26, 2016, at Wright State University in Dayton, one of 16 sites across the country and the lone Ohio location that applied for the privilege.
A second presidential debate is scheduled for Oct. 9, 2016, at Washington University in St. Louis, with a third Oct. 19 at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. The commission also announced a vice presidential debate on Oct. 4 at Longwood University in Farmville, Va.
Moderators and formats for the debates will be announced later.
Ohio played host to the first Republican presidential debate in August at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
