Eagle Scout will sponsor 5K run/walk at car show

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Eric Grantonic, sitting on the fender of a classic car and a Life Scout and Boy Scout with Troop 49 of New Middletown, decided to make his Eagle project an inaugural Cruiser Classic 5K Run/Walk in conjunction with the Custom Car Show at Free Methodist Church, 9900 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road in New Middletown. It stems from his interest in running and competing. The event will be Saturday with registration opening at 7:30 a.m. and the race starting promptly at 9. The race will travel along back roads in a safe location, and the start and finish will be at Springfield Township Custom Car Show at the church. There will be seven age groups competing for medals.
