UPDATE | Police arrest suspect in 16-year-old's fatal shooting

YOUNGSTOWN — A 21-year-old murder suspect and his brother jumped out of a window in an attempt to flee from officers, but both were apprehended quickly, police said.

Sir Wolfgang Green of Youngstown was arrested about 11:15 p.m. Monday outside of a house at 1916 Summer St. on a warrant charging him with murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm and tampering with evidence.

Green is accused of murdering Devon Bailey, who died Sept. 16 after being shot in the chest at a 559 Cohasset Drive home at about 8:35 p.m.

Bailey’s death is the city’s 16th homicide of the year.

Police said they received a tip on the department’s Help Hotline that Green was hiding at the Summer Street house. While talking with the homeowner and her daughter on the porch, police said they saw Green and his brother, Delord, looking out a window on the second floor.

The two ran through the house and then jumped out of a third-story window onto the roof of the front porch and to the ground, police said. The two ran in opposite directions, but were quickly captured and handcuffed.

Sir Wolfgang Green was taken to the Mahoning County jail and will be arraigned Wednesday.

His brother and the two females at the house were not charged.
