Kickoff event set Thursday for Youngstown Business & Education Community program

YOUNGSTOWN — The kickoff event for Youngstown Business & Education Community Connections Program for high-school juniors and seniors is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Choffin Career & Technical Center, 200 E. Wood St.

The new Ohio grant-funded program is developed to provide workforce readiness by matching students to mentoring, job-shadowing, internship and extenship opportunities in the Youngstown-area business community.

Participating schools are Chaney and East campuses and Choffin.

Parents, guardians, educators, students and nonprofits are encouraged to attend.
