Contract extended for Youngstown schools treasurer, teacher's pact ratified

YOUNGSTOWN

The city school board extended the contract of Treasurer James Reinhard through year’s end and ratified an extension of the pact with the teachers’ union.

Reinhard’s contract expired July 31. The resolution approved Tuesday extends it through December. His annual salary will remain at $70,000.

Reinhard has previously requested moving to part-time status and that request is expected to be discussed later.

The Youngstown Education Association contract extension approved by the board Tuesday includes a change in teachers’ health insurance that the district expects will save $2 million annually.

The union previously approved the change.
