BOARDMAN
Township police conducted three chases over the weekend, resulting in multiple arrests.
Arteum Brodeur, 22, of New Middletown, and Tara Robinson, 20, of New Wilmington, Pa., are charged with obstructing official business and resisting arrest. Brodeur also is charged with felony fleeing and eluding.
The pair reportedly led police on a chase in a vehicle and on foot Sunday.
Sterling Henry, 17, of Youngstown, is charged with obstructing official business, resisting arrest and felony failure to comply after purportedly leading police on a chase Saturday.
He also was charged with having no operator’s license, reckless operation and driving with a cracked windshield.
Boardman and Youngstown police also caught a suspect who reportedly led them on a pursuit early Saturday, causing an accident at Ridge Avenue and Edward Street. Charges against that individual are pending, according to a police report.
Township police also made an arrest in a drug-trafficking case over the weekend.
Marcus Wilkins, 27, of Wolosyn Circle, is charged with tampering with evidence, trafficking in crack cocaine and possession of drugs, all felony offenses.
Facing felony charges in a separate case is Kate Vaughn, 20, of Diamond, who was arrested Sunday on two felony counts of assault and misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, furnishing alcohol to minors and underage possession of alcohol.
Those charges stem from an incident early Sunday at a South Avenue hotel in which police reportedly found Vaughn half-naked in a vehicle in the parking lot. Police say Vaughn was highly intoxicated and had alcohol in the vehicle.
Vaughn reportedly was extremely uncooperative, and is accused of assaulting emergency medical technicians who responded to the scene, police said. Vaughn reportedly had to be sedated before being transported to St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.
She was taken to the Mahoning County jail later Sunday after she was discharged from the hospital, according to a police report.
In other news from the weekend, township police handled eight theft cases and multiple break-ins, resulting in three arrests.
Police are investigating an attempted break-in Saturday at Spirit Halloween store on U.S. Route 224 Friday.
Corey Bielik, 27, of Trenholm Road, is charged with misdemeanor theft and possession of drug-abuse instruments after a purported shoplifting incident at Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive, on Friday.
Jay Weston, 29, of New Middletown, was arrested on a charge of possession of drug-abuse instruments and on a Mahoning County warrant for a probation violation in that same incident.
Police also are investigating attempted break-ins reported Saturday and Sunday at Brainard Drive and Hopkins Road properties, as well as a burglary reported Friday at a Ranier Trail home.
