Boardman police kept busy over the weekend


BOARDMAN — Township police conducted three chases over the weekend, resulting in multiple arrests.

Arteum Brodeur, 22, of New Middletown, and Tara Robinson, 20, of New Wilmington, Pa., are charged with obstructing official business and resisting arrest. Brodeur also is charged with felony fleeing and eluding.

The pair allegedly led police on a chase in a vehicle and on foot Sunday.

Sterling Henry, 17, of Youngstown, is charged with obstructing official business, resisting arrest and felony failure to comply for allegedly leading police on a chase Saturday.

He also was cited for no operator's license, reckless operation and driving with a cracked windshield.

Boardman and Youngstown police also caught a suspect who reportedly led them on a pursuit early Saturday, causing an accident at Ridge Avenue and Edward Street. Charges against that individual are pending, according to a police report.

Township police also made an arrest in a drug-trafficking case over the weekend.

Marcus Wilkins, 27, of Wolosyn Circle, is charged with tampering with evidence, trafficking in crack cocaine and possession of drugs, all felony offenses.

In other news from the weekend, township police handled eight theft cases and multiple break-ins, resulting in three arrests.

A 15-year-old Youngstown boy is charged with misdemeanor theft for allegedly shop-lifting from Spirit Halloween store on U.S. Route 224 Friday.

Police are investigating an attempted break-in Saturday to that same store.

Corey Bielik, 27, of Trenholm Road, is charged with misdemeanor theft and possession of drug-abuse instruments after an alleged shoplifting incident at Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive, Friday.

Jay Weston, 29, of New Middletown, was arrested for possession of drug-abuse instruments and on a Mahoning County warrant for a probation violation in that same incident.

Police also are investigating attempted break-ins reported Saturday and Sunday at Brainard Drive and Hopkins Road properties, as well as a burglary reported Friday at a Ranier Trail home.
