‘Twilight’ author to speak at Comic Con

NEW YORK

Ten years after the debut of her million-selling “Twilight” novels, Stephenie Meyer is planning to talk about them at next month’s New York Comic Con.

Little, Brown Books for Young Readers announced last week that Meyer will be interviewed Oct. 8 at Comic Con by MTV’s Josh Horowitz.

Two days before, Little, Brown will reissue “Twilight,” the first of her vampire stories.

In a statement issued through the publisher, Meyer thanked her fans’ “incredible passion and dedication.”

The “Twilight” series, which also includes “New Moon,” “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn,” became a worldwide phenomenon and was adapted into a series of blockbuster movies starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

Report: Schumer selling book proposal

Amy Schumer, hot on the heels of her hit summer movie, “Trainwreck,” may be looking to publish a book.

Publishers Weekly, a trade magazine, reports that the Rockville Centre-raised comedian has hired literary agent David Kuhn to sell an essay collection to New York publishing houses, “according to multiple sources with knowledge of the project.”

PW says that insiders believe the book could sell for anywhere between $5 million and $8 million.

“Trainwreck” has grossed more than $107 million domestically as of Sept. 9, according to the website Box Office Mojo. The movie’s success, along with the popularity of Schumer’s Comedy Central show, “Inside Amy Schumer,” has made her a household name.

A Schumer book would follow similar projects by other female comedians in recent years, including Tina Fey, Mindy Kaling, Amy Poehler and Lena Dunham.

A representative for Schumer did not respond to Newsday’s request for comment.
