Bike safety event for kids Saturday

LOWELLVILLE

Lowellville police and fire departments are teaming up with Struthers Cub Scout Pack 101 for a bike-safety event from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at city hall, 140 E. Liberty St.

Participants will pass out free bike helmets, host a fire-safety station and facilitate the creation of emergency-contact lists and child-identification kits.

The police department received the bike helmets through a grant from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
