Double assault charges

GIRARD

Joseph P. Warren Jr., 35, of Deer Creek Trail in Cortland and Atlantic Street Northwest in Warren; and Elizabeth M. Albanna, 36, of Warren Sharon Road in Vienna, were arraigned Thursday in Girard Municipal Court, each charged with felonious assault.

No plea was entered for either, and bond was set at $25,000 for Warren and $15,000 for Albanna.

Police said they were called to Albanna’s house at an unspecified time Wednesday night on a domestic matter, but police were told everything was fine when they got there.

They were called a second time at 12:05 a.m. Thursday with Albanna telling police Warren knocked her down, choked her, bit her and threatened to kill her. She had a broken nose, and went to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for treatment.

Warren refused treatment for injuries he suffered when Albanna hit him in the head with a bottle, scratched his back and injured his finger, police said.

Fire destroys house

WARREN

A house on Stewart Street Northwest was destroyed by fire Thursday night while the family was away delivering food to a relative.

The home was a complete loss, valued at $48,000.

Daniels said she had been cooking on the grill, which was near an outdoor patio, before leaving the house, she said. The fire was reported by a neighbor at 10:57 p.m. Firefighters spent about three hours working on the fire.

The cause has not been determined.
