Lecture series at Sutliff Museum

Victorian Collections and Coffee, the annual free fall lecture series of the Sutliff Museum, will begin next week.

Each of the three programs begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Thomas Meeting Room on the second floor of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW.

Here is the schedule:

Tuesday: Victorian Desk Sets and Paperweights, presented by Richard and Susan Webb of Kinsman, owners of The Linden Tree Antiques in Harmony, Pa. Attendees can bring one or two pieces of their own collection for comment.

Oct. 8: Military insignia, presented by George Buckner of Newton Falls. Buckner will explain the significance behind military badges, pins, medals and other insignia. Attendees are invited to bring one or two pieces from their collection.

Nov. 14: “Christmas During World War I: The 1914 Christmas Truce” by George Johnson of Logan, Ohio. Johnson will discuss what it was like for the soldiers in the trenches on Christmas during World War I. Reservations are suggested.
