The Austintown library kicked off a two-week spanned Shark Week, centering all of their normal activities and events to be shark-themed beginning on Sept. 10.

Librarian Ashley Potopovich led the first class, Gotta Move Story Time, reading a story about sea life and singing songs with children about sharks.

Jessica Rawlison, brought her two daughters, Rebecca and Abigail, to the library to participate in this special two-weeks.

“They offer a lot to do for families and kids,” Rawlison said.

Although Rawlison and her daughters are new to the area, they were not new to the library and their special events. The family attended this past Summer Discovery Program’s Spinosaurus Encounter and Frozen Summer Party.

Rawlison said she admires the community providing such events in a public library not only for the fun of the children, but the peace of mind for adults, as well.

“I just love it because for stay-at-home moms it allows you the opportunity to socialize your children in a safe environment,” Rawlison said.
