Shepherd of the Valley of Boardman offered a Paint and Sip on Aug. 26. Residents sipped wine coolers – many flavors were available – and painted on a provided canvases from a still-life picture of their choice.

Kim Osborn, Shepherd of the Valley employee, said she likes bringing in pop-culture events like Paint and Sip to Shepherd.

“I like letting them to be able to do something that’s popular nowadays,” Osborn said.

Sarah Chill, another Shepherd employee, said she has fun seeing what residents final products are at the end of the hour-long event.

“My favorite part is watching them make their own interpretations and inspirations from what we give them,” Chill said.

Residents socialized with one another while creating their masterpieces. Employees walked around from table to table helping residents with their artwork and filling up their glasses.

Edith Kurtz and Lucille Van Allen raved about Paint and Sip.

“I’m really enjoying myself,” Kurtz said.

Van Allen agreed.

“I think it’s wonderful,” she said.
