Cops find 24k in cash, large amounts of heroin, cocaine

Members of the vice squad serving a search warrant investigating drug activity found large quantities of drugs and cash at a South Side home.

Lt. Gerard Slattery, head of the vice squad, said officers raiding the 950 Pasadena Ave. home Wednesday found $24,000 in cash along with $15,000 worth of suspected heroin and $2,000 worth of suspected cocaine.

Alfred Hall, 34, was arrested on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drugs heroin and possession of drugs cocaine. He is expected to be arraigned in municipal court today.

Also found in the home was a box of .40-caliber ammunition and a .22-caliber revolver that was loaded.

Slattery said he could not comment much on the raid because it is part of an ongoing investigation.

Slattery said 100 grams of suspected heroin and 20 grams of suspected cocaine were found inside the home.

A police report said Hall has a prior conviction for trafficking in marijuana.

Of the money, $21,000 was found in the attic and $3,000 was found under a mattress, reports said.

Mahoning County Common Pleas Court records show Hall has a 2004 conviction for aggravated drug trafficking. He was sentenced to probation, according to court records.
