Temporary 4-way stop signs put up at Struthers intersection

STRUTHERS — For safety reasons, officials have temporarily turned the intersection of Wetmore Drive and Center Street into a four-way stop after a crash Wednesday in which a vehicle ran into a utility pole, a street department official said.

Jim Vespasian, a street department employee, said it could be several weeks before the city repairs the damage and removes the stop signs.

Vespasian noted the intersection seems to be particularly dangerous. A few years ago, in response to collisions, the street department installed a stop light at the intersection where a two-way stop had existed, Vespasian said.
