Sentencing planned

YOUNGSTOWN

Sentencing will be today for a Canton Street man found guilty of several charges Wednesday by a Mahoning County Common Pleas Court jury.

Jurors found Terrence Parker, 31, guilty of two counts of two counts of robbery, intimidation of a witness, menacing by stalking with a specification that Parker had committed acts of violence and disrupting public service.

Jurors did find Parker innocent of two counts of felonious assault, aggravated robbery and intimidation of a victim of a crime, after a brief trial before Judge R. Scott Krichbaum.

Cultivation charge

BOARDMAN

A man faces a felony charge after being accused of growing marijuana in a vacant house on Mill Creek Boulevard.

Damond Brown, 22, is charged with cultivation of marijuana, a third-degree felony. He is scheduled to appear in Mahoning County Area Court here today.

The charge stems from an incident Tuesday night in which police were called to the 6592 Mill Creek Blvd. property in reference to a break-in.

Officers reportedly found suspected marijuana buds attached to hangers in several closets, a pool table covered in suspected marijuana debris and a suspected potted marijuana plant from which several stems had been cut.

The suspected drugs found weighed 1,134 grams, or slightly more than 39 ounces, according to a police report.

Other people were at the scene, according to the report, but Brown was the only one arrested. One person was charged with possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
