Man faces charge for allegedly growing pot in Boardman
BOARDMAN — A man faces a felony drug charge for allegedly growing marijuana in a vacant house on Mill Creek Boulevard.
Damond Brown, 22, is charged with cultivation of marijuana, a third-degree felony.
The charge stems from an incident Tuesday night in which police were called to the 6592 Mill Creek Blvd. property in reference to a break-in.
Officers reportedly found suspected marijuana buds attached to hangers in several closets, a pool table covered in suspected marijuana debris and suspected potted marijuana plants from which several stems had been cut.
The suspected drugs found at the scene weighed in at a total of 1,134 grams, according to a police report.
Other people were at the scene, according to the report, but Brown was the only one arrested. One person was cited for possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
Brown was taken to the Mahoning County jail. He is scheduled to appear in Mahoning County Area Court here Thursday.
