Liberty Fire Department receives operations and safety grant

LIBERTY — The Liberty Fire Department has received a $76,772 Operations and Safety grant via the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.

U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-13th announced the grant today.

“It is imperative that we make safety a necessity when it comes to the firefighters who put their life on the line every day,” Ryan said in a written statement. “These types of federal grants are important to ensure that local fire departments have the resources they need to keep our community safe.”
