TODAY

Boar’s Head Group of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will serve a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The meal includes mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. The cost is $8. No reservations are necessary. Lockwood United Methodist Church, 4570 Lockwood Blvd., Boardman, will host a free community dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. It will consist of pasta, meatballs, salad, bread, dessert and a beverage.

THURSDAY

Palmy Chapter 114, OES, will have soup and salad for sale from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Deerfield Masonic Hall, 2380 state Route 225. A donation of $6 will include a choice of 3 or 4 soups, tossed salad, dessert and a beverage. Takeout orders are available. Proceeds will benefit various charities. Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown, will serve Supper at the Corner from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Donations will be accepted to continue the program.

Woodworth Church of the Brethren, 30 E. Western Reserve Road, at the corner of Market Street, Boardman, will serve dinners of beef tips and noodles from 2:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Meals of Angus beef tips, homestyle noodles, corn, roll with butter and a homemade cookie sell for $8 and are takeout only. FRIDAY

Canfield Lions Club will have a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Meals include a choice of baked or fried fish; french fries, macaroni and cheese, pirogi or haluski; and coleslaw, green beans, roll, dessert and beverage. The cost is $11.

Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. Phone orders may be made from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at beginning at 8 a.m. Friday at 330-755-1316. Orders can be picked up beginning at noon.

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

SATURDAY

Calvary Baptist Church, 1463 Shields Road, Youngstown, will have a chicken and biscuit dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Takeout will be available. The menu includes mashed potatoes, vegetables, salad, homemade dessert and beverage. The cost is $8 for adults and $3 for children; those under 5 eat for free.

New Hope United Methodist Church, 21 Fairview Ave., Niles, is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner with tossed salad and dessert from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. A bake sale will take place during the dinner.

Southington American Legion Post 751, 3145 Warren-Burton Road, will have a Swiss steak dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Donations are $8 for adults and $4.50 for children under 12. The menu includes gravy, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, vegetable, beverage and dessert. Takeouts are welcome.

Western Reserve Masonic Lodge, 216 E. Main St. (Route 88), West Farmington, will host an all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatball dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. Included will be salad, bread, pie and coffee and lemonade. Donations are $7 for adults and $4.50 for ages 5 to 12, under 5 eats for free. Take home is available.

SUNDAY

Kinsman Presbyterian Church, 6383 Church St., will host a roast beef dinner from noon to 2 p.m. The cost for adults is $8 and $4 for children 12 and under; tickets will be available at the door. VFW Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve a homestyle breakfast sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary from 8 a.m. to noon. $6 for adults; $3.50 for children under 12 years old. The menu consists of eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes or freedom toast, toast and coffee or tea.

TAKING ORDERS

Christ The Good Shepherd Parish at St. John the Baptist Church, 159 Reed Ave. Campbell, will be selling homemade haluski on Sept. 25. First Presbyterian Church of Girard, 890 Church Hill Road, is selling 15-inch homemade pepperoni rolls for $8 each, potato and chicken noodle soup for $5 per quart and $3 per pint, fresh-baked bread for $2 for a large loaf and $1.50 for a small loaf, and homemade sticky buns for $2.50 for four. Pickup is from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Orders should be placed by calling 330-759-1460 and must be received by today.
