Man left bloodied by woman demanding money for drugs

YOUNGSTOWN — A 66-year-old West Evergreen Avenue man told police a woman attacked him with a tool in his backyard early Tuesday morning because he would not give her money for drugs.

Reports said police were called to the man's home in the 300 block of West Evergreen Avenue about 3:50 a.m., where the man told police he was arguing with a woman in his backyard who wanted $20 from him and he refused her. The victim told police the woman is addicted to drugs, reports said.

The woman punched the man in the face, hit him with a tool and took his cell phone.

Reports said a neighbor called 911 and the victim was bleeding heavily from the face and had a large knot in his head.

Paramedics were called to help treat the man's injuries, reports said.
