Ohio gas prices up slightly from last week

COLUMBUS (AP) — The average price of gas in Ohio is up slightly over last week.

The state’s average for a gallon of regular gas was about $2.22 in today’s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That’s an increase of about 3 cents from a week ago — but it’s 63 cents lower than a month ago when the partial shutdown of an Indiana refinery led to a temporary spike in prices.

The Ohio average also is $1.10 less than last year at this time.

The national average Monday was $2.33, about 7 cents lower than a week ago.

In Ohio, the Youngstown area had the cheapest gas, with an average of $2.13.
