Lepper Library will host sale, lectures


LISBON

Lisbon’s Lepper Library, 303 E. Lincoln Way, is announcing upcoming events that will take place in conjunction with Lisbon’s Johnny Appleseed Festival.

A used book sale will be in the library garage off of Vine Street from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The sale will include magazines for 10 cents, paperbacks and children’s books for 25 cents, hardback books and videos for 50 cents and audios and DVD’s for $1. Homer Laughlin dishes will also be for sale at a reduced price.

The Sandy and Beaver Association will sponsor free local history lectures at the library on Friday.

Each lecture is a half hour, with informational displays and questions to follow. The lectures will be “A Brief History of Sandy and Beaver Canal” by John Horn, 1 p.m.; “Camp McKinley History Through Post Cards,” also by Horn, 2 p.m.; “The Canal Through Lisbon” by Doug Basco, 3 p.m.; and “Local Canal Boat Builders, Owners and Repairs,” by Basco, 4 p.m.
