Rebuilding America summit scheduled

YOUNGSTOWN

The Rebuilding America: Northeastern Ohio/Western Pennsylvania, Manufacturing Career Pathways Summit will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 22 at Youngstown State University’s Kilcawley Center.

Business and civic leaders, educators and policy makers will share concerns over the loss of America’s middle class and growing polarization of incomes.

The summit will include a networking breakfast buffet, educational and sponsorship exhibits, breakout sessions and a keynote speaker.

Students and guests will have an opportunity to meet with manufacturing companies and career centers.

Public invited to Business Showcase

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s Business Showcase will be open to the public from noon to 4:30 p.m. at Mr. Anthony’s banquet hall, 7440 South Ave.

The center stage, sponsored by Forty-Two Inc., will be available for product demonstrations. Lunch will be provided by Roxbury Pizza.

The showcase offers local businesses an opportunity to reach a targeted audience of potential customers.

Market pop-up event is scheduled

A second Rust Belt Made Makers Market is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. next Sunday at Stone Fruit Coffee Co., 410 W. Main St.

The market will bring together a group of friends and artisans for a pop-up event.

Vendors will include 1820 House, ala Jamie, Stone Fruit Coffee, Trailside Bicycle Co., Vintie Design Co., Lola Bean’s Boutique, White Church Co., Junque, Converse Custom Metal Design, Hawks Homestead, Messie Jessie’s Whimsical Bakery, Papyrusaurus and Sassyfrass Jewelry.

Amanda’s Candy Cottage opens in Columbiana

The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce recently had a ribbon-cutting at Amanda’s Candy Cottage and Gifts, 217 S. Main St.

Amanda Bolen, owner, has more than 80 types of candies, chocolates, homemade fudge, salt-water taffy and other items.

The shop is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
