Monday Night Writers will meet Friday

The next meeting of Monday Night Writers will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Peaberry’s Caf , 4350 Boardman-Canfield Road.

The meeting day has changed.

Area writers, both published and unpublished, are invited to attend.

Nancy Christie, author of Traveling Left of Center and Other Stories, will lead the session with a mix of writing exercises, information on the creative and business aspects of writing and group feedback on works-in-progress.

The fee is $10 per class and includes $5 in Peaberry Bucks for Friday only.

Five local writers set to tell stories

YOUNGSTOWN

Five local writers and storytellers, Davita Fitzgerald, Kris Harrinton, Becky Ann Harker, Liz Hill and Terry L. Shears, will share stories, and homebaked desserts will be served to benefit the YWCA of Youngstown and Lit Youngstown.

The event will take place at 7 p.m. Sept. 29 at the YWCA, 25 W. Rayen Ave.

Free parking will be available in the building lot or in the Youngstown schools lot.

There also will be the opportunity to purchase books to build a children’s library at the YWCA.

Tickets will be $5 in advance or $8 at the door.
