Animal shelter offers ways to help strays

CANFIELD

Save the Strays is taking place during the month of September at the cat wing of Angels for Animals, 4750 W. South Range Road.

The center is attempting to have more cats adopted so there is space for more strays that need homes. Any strays taken to the shelter will be half off the adoption fee.

The shelter hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, noon to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The Feline Voucher Project, which will be a spaghetti dinner to go, will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the center. It will raise funds to help lower the fees for spaying and neutering and to save more lives. Drive up to the curb to order, and the meals will be delivered. The cost is $8 per dinner or $7 for vegetarian meals. There also will be curbside gift cards and a certificate raffle.

Angels for Animals will host its Autumn Market from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 26 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Canfield Fairgrounds Arts and Crafts Building.

There will be handmade arts and crafts, and admission is free.
