ODOT announces upcoming work for next week

Staff report

YOUNGSTOWN

There will be two lane restrictions on Interstate 76 as the Interstate 80 work continues next week.

The ramp from I-76 eastbound to the Ohio Turnpike will be closed from 7 p.m. Monday through 6 a.m. Tuesday for bridge repairs. The detour for that will be I-80 eastbound to state Route 46 to I-80 westbound to the Ohio Turnpike ramp.

Then, I-76 westbound at the turnpike will be reduced to one lane from 7 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Sept. 21 for pavement replacement.

Both closures are part of the three-year, $108.4 million project to widen I-80 between state Route 11 and state Route 193 (Belmont Avenue).

In Beaver Township, the Interstate 680 northbound and southbound traffic under Western Reserve Road will have various daily lane restrictions for pavement repairs.

That is part of the $8.9 million project to replace the Western Reserve Road bridge over I-680 and to resurface I-680 from U.S. Route 224 to the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
