Ohio Players in free concert in city park
YOUNGSTOWN
Billy Beck’s Ohio Players will give a free concert from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Bailey Park, at Knapp and East Miltonia avenues, on the East Side.
Beck, a Youngstown native and resident, is an original member of the legendary funk-pop band that produced the hits “Fire” and “Love Rollercoaster” in the 1970s.
Concertgoers can bring a lawn chair or blanket.
Polish language classes offered
YOUNGSTOWN
Polish language classes will take place Tuesdays from Sept. 15 to Dec. 15 at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave., with instructor Anna Sarnacka Smith. Cost is $55, plus optional textbooks.

Mexican artist’s exhibit at YSU

An exhibit by printmaker Humberto Saenz is featured in the Judith Rae Solomon Gallery in Bliss Hall at Youngstown State University. The gallery is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibit will run through Oct. 1.
Saenz is a Mexican artist living in Wichita, Kan., where he is a professor at Wichita State University.‚Ø
He will be a guest artist at YSU in the spring semester.
