BREAKING NEWS | Northside Medical Center nurses voting today on new contract

YOUNGSTOWN — Northside Medical Center’s registered nurses are voting today on a new three-year contract with Community Health Systems Inc., owner of ValleyCare Health System of Ohio of which Northside is an affiliate.

Nurses, represented by the Youngstown General Duty Nurses Association, an affiliate of the Ohio Nurses Association, began voting at 8 a.m. today at Teamsters Local 377’s hall. Voting will continue at noon, 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The tentative contract, reached Aug. 31 and endorsed by YGDNA’s negotiating team, includes modest pay increases that will help offset the increased employee share of health care insurance premiums, said Eric Williams, YGDNA president.
