UPDATE | Inmate at Struthers jail hangs himself

STRUTHERS — Officials at the city jail here found a 43-year old man dead in his cell shortly before 9 a.m. today.

The man had hanged himself, police Capt. Patrick Bundy said. The Mahoning County Coroner's Office and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation are investigating the death. Police declined to release the man's name, pending notification of his family.

The man was not on suicide watch, Bundy said.
