Jack Hanna to give Packard hall lecture

Animal expert Jack Hanna will come to Packard Music Hall on Wednesday for a 10:30 a.m. lecture.

The television show host will bring some animal friends with him.

Hanna’s appearance is part of the Trumbull Town Hall lecture series. Tickets are $35 and $74 at ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800-745-3000 and at the Packard box office.

Doors open at 9:30 a.m., and coffee and breakfast rolls will be sold.

Hanna is one of the most visible and respected ambassadors between the human and animal worlds. His show, “Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures,” has been on the air for 15 years, and he has made countless appearances on other TV shows. the former director of the Columbus Zoo is also a conservationist, author of seven books and lifelong adventurer. He still serves as director emeritus of the Columbus Zoo.

Hanna’s passion for wildlife stems from his early childhood. He cultivated a love for animals on his family’s farm, and spent his teenage summers helping the local veterinarian. After graduating from Muskingum College, he and his wife opened a pet store and petting zoo. He became director of the Central Florida Zoo a few years later, and took the same post at the Columbus Zoo in 1978, transforming the struggling zoo into a state-of-the-art animal haven.
