Sharon Regional to open school time capsule today

SHARON, PA. — As part of the demolition of the St. Joseph School property that lies immediately east of Sharon Regional Hospital, a time capsule was located within the school. Due to the wide community interest from school alumni and former teachers, Sharon Regional will have a brief event where the time capsule will be opened.

This event will is scheduled for 4 p.m. today at Sharon Regional Health System.

The clearing and site preparation of the school property is already underway and the demolition is expected to be complete by the end of December. Sharon Regional acquired the property from the Diocese of Erie in 2013. The original school was built in 1890 with additions in 1930 and 1954.
