Men face robbery charges after arrest at Southern Park Mall

BOARDMAN — Two teenagers face second-degree felony robbery charges for an incident at Macy's at the Southern Park Mall.

Charged are Sedric Johnson Jr., 18, of Youngstown, and Brandon Battle, 18, of Canfield.

Battle also is charged with breaking and entering and obstructing official business.

The robbery charges stem from an incident Tuesday in which the pair reportedly assaulted a store employee while attempting to flee with store merchandise.

The additional charges against Battle are because he reportedly led police on a chase. He reportedly broke into a Southern Boulevard business, where police found him hiding.

Battle and Johnson were taken to the Mahoning County jail. They are scheduled to appear in Mahoning County Area Court here Thursday.
