Clippers take Brookfield Invitational

Columbiana’s Jared Wilson outdueled Girard’s Mark Standohar for medalist honors on Tuesday and Wilson’s Clippers took the team title in the 14th annual Brookfield Golf Invitational.
Wilson shot a 70 to edge Standohar (71) by only one stroke at Yankee Run Golf Course.
Wilson’s Columbiana teammate Joe Lucci was third with a 72 to help the Clippers (305) capture the team title by a whopping 23 strokes over Girard (328).
Warren JFK’s Jimmy Graham (75, fourth) and Jefferson’s Austin Jacobs (75, fifth) rounded out the top five individuals, followed by Beaver Local’s Quinin Carr (76, sixth), Girard’s Anthony Graziano (78, seventh), Ursuline’s Michael Butch (79, eighth) and Columbiana’s Bruce Wiggins (80, ninth). Beaver Local’s Joe Newlin (81) and Warren JFK’s Ryan Theis (81) tied for 10th among individuals.
Other top individuals included Conneaut’s Cole Clausen (82, 12th), Columbiana’s Seth Ross (83, 13th) and Mathews’ Bryan Oatridge (83, 14th).
Ursuline’s Danny Brooks (15th), Warren JFK’s Zach Shoaf (16th), Mathews’ Ryan Kay (17th), Ursuline’s Drew Murphy (18th) and Brookfield’s Bryce Schell (19th) all shot rounds of 84. East Palestine’s Marshall Huddleston finished in 20th place with an 85.
Warren JFK (331) was the third-place team, followed by Ursuline (337), Jefferson (341), East Palestine (346), Mathews (349), Beaver Local (353), Lakeview (369) and host Brookfield (372).
Other schools in the 19-team field included Bristol (384), Pymatuning Valley (388), Conneauyt (390), Lordstown (410), Southington (416), Maplewood (429), West Middlesex, Pa. (433), Heartland Christian (448) and Warren Harding (450).
