‘Health at Home’

Mercy Health Youngstown, formerly Humility of Mary Health Partners, is offering a one-hour workshop, “Health at Home,” Sept. 17 at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, 1044 Belmont Ave.
The morning session is from 11 a.m. to noon, and the evening session runs from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The workshop and all materials are free, but reservations are required. Call 330-480-3070.
The workshop includes an easy-to-use reference guide that provides information about more than 200 common health problems as well as tips on caring for yourself and your family, preventing illness and injury, and advice on when to seek medical attention.

Cancer survivors are invited to feed their bodies and nourish their souls during a free nutrition program in the Serenity Garden at the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center, 1044 Belmont Ave. (enter from Park Avenue and in the Park Avenue parking deck), on Sept. 16 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Dr. Kathy S. Padgitt, who practices at The Kidney Group Inc. and The Center for Lifestyle Change, and Kayla Aulise, oncology services, Mercy Health Youngstown, will explain how cancer survivors can empower themselves by taking charge of their everyday nutrition. Mercy Health physicians Drs. Allen Amorn and Lucas Henn will discuss techniques and technologies for treating valvular heart disease and atrial fibrillation, the most common type of irregular heartbeat, on Sept. 15 at Holiday Inn – Boardman, 7410 South Ave.
