SOUTHINGTON
As part of Safe Driving Awareness Month, the Ohio State Highway Patrol is asking motorists in September to commit to only driving while buckled, focused and sober.
In addition, motorists help keep roadways safe when they take their time, drive defensively and know traffic-safety laws, said Lt. Brian Holt, commander of the Southington Post.
September was designated Safe Driving Awareness Month by Senate Bill 294, signed by Gov. John Kasich in June 2014 to honor victims of motor-vehicle crashes.
