Judge plans talk on aiding veterans

Judge James A. Fredericka of Trumbull County Probate Court will address the West Side Neighborhood Association about the probate court’s veterans assistance program, senior court and the guardian angels program next Monday.
The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 1725 Drexel Ave. NW.
Wallet-theft arrest
VIENNA
Vienna police arrested a man in connection with a wallet theft last week.
Jacob Koval, 24, residence unknown, turned himself in Friday night. He is accused of stealing a wallet at a Circle K convenience store on state Route 193 Wednesday night.
Koval will appear in court this week.
Test-drive fundraiser at Boardman stadium

Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC will host a one-day test-drive event to help raise thousands of dollars for student programs at Boardman High School as part of the Buick Drive For Your Students program from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the high school stadium. Participants must be 21 or older, possess a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
Buick will donate $10 to the fund for every participant who test-drives a new Buick. If there are more than 100 test drives, Buick will double its donation to $20 per valid test drive. Up to $10,000 can be raised for the school, said Doug Sweeney, president of Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC.
Frank Lazzeri, Boardman schools superintendent, asked residents to support the Spartan Stadium Project and the community by taking a Buick for a test drive.

Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership will have a free foreclosure-prevention workshop for community members and leaders at 6 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Raymond John Wean Foundation offices, 147 West Market St.
Call the extension service at 330-638-6783 to register for the free class.
The workshop is not intended for individuals facing foreclosure. The program will cover the process of foreclosure, why foreclosure happens, how it can be prevented, resources in the community and foreclosure scams.
