Heroin overdose victim dumped on hospital sidewalk

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Village police said a man left a woman who was suffering from a heroin overdose on the sidewalk of St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital and fled sometime Sunday evening.

Reports said police were called to an address on Sandy Drive, where witnesses reported a man dragged a woman out of a home and put her in a car, then drove away at high speed, almost striking several bystanders.

The man then drove to the hospital, where he dragged the woman out of the car, left her on the sidewalk outside the emergency room and then left.

Reports said police impounded the car after they found it and expect to file charges, but were not able to question the woman Sunday because she was being treated at the hospital.
