Colts release Warren Harding grad Boom Herron

The Indianapolis Colts released running back Boom Herron, who injured his shoulder on a kickoff return in the team's final preseason game.

Herron, a former standout at Warren Harding and Ohio State who saw significant action during the team's playoff run last season, will be placed on injured reserved if he clears waivers.
