The Steelathon Race will cause rolling closures on Walnut, Lincoln, Phelps, Rayen and Commerce Streets as the race progresses between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sunday.

Accident on 711 injures one woman

YOUNGSTOWN

One woman was injured, and traffic was backed up for several hours Friday after a one-vehicle accident on the 711 connector at Interstate 680 in Youngstown.

A black SUV flipped several times on the I-680 North entrance ramp around 6 p.m. The woman was ejected from the vehicle and taken to the hospital, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.

City police were still on the scene investigating the accident at press time.

Woman, 38, charged in rape of boy, 14

CORTLAND

Regina L. Turner, 38, of Irishtown South Road in Farmdale, was released from the Trumbull County jail Wednesday after posting $40,000 bond, charged with the rape of a boy, 14, Sunday at an outdoor birthday party in Kinsman Township.

A not-guilty plea was entered, and the case was bound over to a grand jury Wednesday by Central District Court. Kinsman police said Turner sexually assaulted the boy inside the house. She was left alone on a couch in the house because of intoxication, police said.

Warren man pleads not guilty to rape

WARREN

Jonathan R. Emerine, 23, of North Road Southeast, pleaded not guilty Friday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to one count of rape and three counts of gross sexual imposition involving two girls. Bond was set at $250,000.

Emerine was arrested Thursday and taken to the Trumbull County jail after he was secretly indicted Wednesday by a grand jury.

The rape charge and two counts of gross sexual imposition involve allegations that he sexually assaulted a girl, 11, in April, and the third count of gross sexual imposition alleges he sexually assaulted a girl age 13 in June.

If convicted of the rape, Emerine could get a life prison sentence.
