A Brooklyn, N.Y., man and a Maple Heights woman are in the Mahoning County jail on $50,000 bond each after reports said they were caught on camera in a cruiser scheming to hide marijuana.

The woman was viewed on camera stuffing the drug in her pants.

Parris Brown, 31 and Rosetta Cobb, 21, were each arraigned before Magistrate Anthony Sertick on Friday on charges of trafficking in marijuana and tampering with evidence.

The two were arrested after a traffic stop on U.S. Route 422 about 11 a.m. Wednesday by troopers of the Canfield Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Assistant City Prosecutor Shelli Freeze told Magistrate Sertick that Brown has a record from out of state for weapons and drug offenses. She did not mention whether Cobb had a record.

Freeze added that Cobb had stuffed 13 bags of marijuana inside of her body before they were retrieved.

Reports said a trooper on Interstate 680 South pulled the car over because of an improper lane change from the interstate to state Route 711. The trooper smelled a strong odor of marijuana when he walked to the car, reports said.

Reports said Brown and Cobb were placed in the back seat of a cruiser while troopers searched the car and cameras caught both of them talking about hiding marijuana. At one point Brown asked Cobb if she “hid all the weed” and she said no. Later, the camera in the cruiser caught Brown stuffing bags of drugs down her pants, reports said

Both were taken to the jail, where a female deputy was waiting to search Cobb, but she got the drugs out on her own, reports said.

Reports said troopers found two large bags of marijuana inside the car and another smaller bag as well. Brown had $1,700 in cash on him while Cobb had about $600, reports said.
