Ways to be involved

ACTION (Alliance for Congregational Transformation Influencing Our Neighborhoods) is a faith-based group of churches, community organizations and neighborhood groups. It is affiliated with Gamaliel Foundation, a network of more than 50 faith-based organizations in America.

Prayer rally: A community empowerment prayer, led by clergy, is planned from 4 to 5 p.m. Sept. 13 on the steps of the Nathaniel Jones Federal Courthouse, 10 E. Commerce St., Youngstown. There will be music and dance presentations with Gail Nevels and Lindsay Renea. Sponsors are NOW Youngstown and ACTION. Convocation: ACTION convocation is scheduled at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at St. Edward Church, 240 Tod Lane, Youngstown. The next clergy breakfast will be Nov. 12 at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 827 Wilson Ave., Youngstown.
